About Us

Edge Dance Studios was founded by siblings Siobhan and John Mulligan in September 2015.

Offering classes in Classical Ballet and Irish dancing to children from 3 years to adults.

Catering for recreational students as well as vocational and competitive individuals.

There is the opportunity for ballet students to sit Royal Academy Of Dance Examinations and Irish dancing students to sit CLRG Grades. All members have the opportunity to take part in school and local performances, events and displays.

Students past and present have successfully auditioned for vocational training with Irish National Youth Ballet, Ballet Boost Associate program, High Points Youth Ballet Belfast, Edinburgh Festival Ballet school, English National Ballet Summer program, Morea Performing Arts Associates and College of Dance Dublin.

With small class sizes and individual attention we are your go to dance school in the Kildare/ Meath area!

Siobhan Edge

John Mulligan
BA Performing Arts

Siobhan began her dance training at age 4. She quickly excelled and was plucked at age 8 to join Vocational dance training with Celbridge School of Ballet while also maintaining a highly successful competitive Irish Dance Career.

Siobhan later studied dance professionally at Ballet West UK in Scotland earning a Higher National Certificate in Dance Performance and Production. While in Scotland Siobhan had the opportunity to perform and tour with Ballet West Company's productions of 'The Nutcracker' and 'Love Central'.

Siobhan has enjoyed a successful dance career both on stage and film. Landing a dance role in the Bollywood movie 'Ek Tha Tiger' shot on location in Dublin in 2011, and completing contracts with entertainment companies 'Vanessa Show Productions', 'Gold Star Entertainment' and 'Sphinx Company Dancers' in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt.

Siobhan is a qualified Classical Ballet teacher registered with the Royal Academy of Dance London. She holds a National Certificate in Exercise and Fitness and a current Paediatric First Aid Cert.  Siobhan is a registered TCRG with An Coimisiun le Rince Gaelacha.

John has danced all his life. He began his training in Ballet and Jazz at Celbridge School Of Ballet.

He enjoyed a successful competitive Irish dance career placing in the top 6 in World, All Ireland, All Scotland and North American Championships.

At age 12 John landed a role in 'Jean Butler's Masterclass DVD' dancing alongside Jean Butler, Michael Pat Gallagher and many other big names in Irish dance.

John holds a BA in Performing Arts awarded to him in 2012 by Dundalk Institute of Technology.

Since graduating John has had the opportunity to tour with many different Professional Irish Dance Companies. Performing as Lead Male dancer in 'Rhythm Of The Dance', 'Celtic Steps' and 'Gael Force Dance'. John has also enjoyed success with 'Lord Of The Dance', 'Ireland Rises' , 'Celtic Fyre Busch Gardens' and 'David Geaney's Velocity ' and 'Officially Tapped'.

John will be taking on the role of Head of Irish Dance at Edge Dance Studios in September 2017!!

Jade Hyland
BA (HONS) Ballet Education, LRAD RAD RTS

Practising freelance dance educator and inclusive practitioner, Jade Hyland (she/her) grew
up in Meath, Ireland, training in RAD graded and vocational exams.

 

Jade completed her
undergraduate degree at the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD), London, where she achieved
a first class honours BA (Hons) Ballet Education and Licentiate of the Royal Academy of
Dance (LRAD) with distinction, in addition to a CertHE obtained from the University of
Galway in Global Media, Political and Social Science, and Philosophy.

Jade was awarded the Iris Truscott LRAD scholarship, commending her academic
achievements and passion for the art form.

​

With experience teaching in a range of dance education
contexts, including primary, secondary, adult, private, and community, Jade values her
responsibility to nurture and provide the tools and training necessary to fulfil students goals,
foster joy for dance, and enhance students& individual strengths.

​

Jade is thrilled to continue learning with the Royal Academy of Dance RADiate project, teach
in a variety of London-based ballet schools.

​

Jade is excited to continue campaigning for the inclusion of dance education in the
public sector in both Ireland and the UK.

​

Jade is thrilled to have the opportunity to teach the fantastic students at Edge Dance
Studios.
