About Us

Edge Dance Studios was founded by siblings Siobhan and John Mulligan in September 2015.

Offering classes in Classical Ballet and Irish dancing to children from 3 years to adults.

Catering for recreational students as well as vocational and competitive individuals.

There is the opportunity for ballet students to sit Royal Academy Of Dance Examinations and Irish dancing students to sit CLRG Grades. All members have the opportunity to take part in school and local performances, events and displays.

Students past and present have successfully auditioned for vocational training with Irish National Youth Ballet, Ballet Boost Associate program, High Points Youth Ballet Belfast, Edinburgh Festival Ballet school, English National Ballet Summer program, Monica Loughman Elite Ballet Company and College of Dance Dublin.

With small class sizes and individual attention we are your go to dance school in the Kildare/ Meath area!

Siobhan Edge

John Mulligan
BA Performing Arts

Siobhan began her dance training at age 4. She quickly excelled and was plucked at age 8 to join Vocational dance training with Celbridge School of Ballet while also maintaining a highly successful competitive Irish Dance Career.

Siobhan later studied dance professionally at Ballet West UK in Scotland earning a Higher National Certificate in Dance Performance and Production. While in Scotland Siobhan had the opportunity to perform and tour with Ballet West Company's productions of 'The Nutcracker' and 'Love Central'.

Siobhan has enjoyed a successful dance career both on stage and film. Landing a dance role in the Bollywood movie 'Ek Tha Tiger' shot on location in Dublin in 2011, and completing contracts with entertainment companies 'Vanessa Show Productions', 'Gold Star Entertainment' and 'Sphinx Company Dancers' in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt.

Siobhan is a qualified Classical Ballet teacher registered with the Royal Academy of Dance London. She holds a National Certificate in Exercise and Fitness and a current Paediatric First Aid Cert.  Siobhan is a registered TCRG with An Coimisiun le Rince Gaelacha.

John has danced all his life. He began his training in Ballet and Jazz at Celbridge School Of Ballet.

He enjoyed a successful competitive Irish dance career placing in the top 6 in World, All Ireland, All Scotland and North American Championships.

At age 12 John landed a role in 'Jean Butler's Masterclass DVD' dancing alongside Jean Butler, Michael Pat Gallagher and many other big names in Irish dance.

John holds a BA in Performing Arts awarded to him in 2012 by Dundalk Institute of Technology.

Since graduating John has had the opportunity to tour with many different Professional Irish Dance Companies. Performing as Lead Male dancer in 'Rhythm Of The Dance', 'Celtic Steps' and 'Gael Force Dance'. John has also enjoyed success with 'Lord Of The Dance', 'Ireland Rises' , 'Celtic Fyre Busch Gardens' and 'David Geaney's Velocity ' and 'Officially Tapped'.

John will be taking on the role of Head of Irish Dance at Edge Dance Studios in September 2017!!

Emma Browne

Emma Browne began her full-time professional ballet training in the Vaganova style at age
15 when she was invited to train in St. Petersburg, Russia. At age 17, she continued her
training with Brussels International Ballet School. Emma was the overall winner of the ballet
category at Twilight Dance Competition in 2018, has attended English National Ballet
summer intensives, performed many times on stage and at corporate events, performed as
Clara from The Nutcracker with the RTE Concert Orchestra on RTE television and has
toured performing Swan Lake in Belgian theatres. Emma is a student teacher registered with
the Association of Russian Ballet and Theatre Arts (ARBTA) and a fully qualified
Progressive Ballet Technique (PBT) teacher. From September 2022, Emma will be working
with and sharing her knowledge with some of Ireland’s leading Ballet schools.

Jade started dancing at the age of 5 and has now completed RAD grades 1-8 and is currently working on her Advanced 1 Vocational exam.

She trained with the McDermott School of Ballet and Dance, the Celbridge School of Ballet and the Kildare Youth Ballet Company.

Jade has performed in several shows including “The Nutcracker” with KYBC and has experience in assisting classes, backstage at shows, and teaching dance in summer camps.

She was successful in her application to study the BA (Hons) Ballet Education course in the RAD commencing in 2022!
